When Madison Rayne made her Ring of Honor debut in 2008, she was just a few years into her journey as a pro wrestler. When she returned nine years later, Rayne was an international star who had won multiple championships and defeated some of the biggest names in women’s wrestling, including Mickie James, Gail Kim, and ODB.

In early 2018, Rayne competed in the tournament to crown the first Women of Honor World Champion, which was won by Sumie Sakai. Later that year, Rayne won a No. 1 contender’s Four Corner Survival Match over Tenille Dashwood, Kelly Klein and Karen Q. She came up just short in her title match against Sakai, but she firmly established herself as a top contender with her strong performance in the match. Rayne was one of the top female free agents in the sport when she officially signed with ROH in September 2018.
