SoCal Uncensored, Hung Bucks talk trash

Christopher Daniels, accompanied by Scorpio Sky, bragged about SoCal Ucensored’s recent attack on The Young Bucks and victory over Bullet Club members in a six-man tag match. He said tonight they will win the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles from The Hung Bucks.

The Hung Bucks (The Young Bucks and Adam Page) said they are excited about having the opportunity to get a measure of revenge against SoCal Uncensored. A fired-up Page vowed to break some of his opponents’ bones tonight.

Flip Gordon vs. Jay Lethal

In a matchup pitting one of the sport’s most promising young stars against “The Franchise” of ROH, Gordon got off to a fast start, using his quickness and agility to stay a step ahead of Lethal. The former ROH World Champion eventually gained the advantage, but Gordon kept battling. Gordon went for his Star-Spangled Stunner, but he slipped off the ropes and Lethal immediately capitalized on the miscue. Lethal hit a Dragon Suplex and followed up with Lethal Injection to score a hard-fought win.

ROH World Title Match announced for 16th Anniversary show

As Lethal was about to head up the ramp after his victory, ROH commentator Colt Cabana joined him outside the ring to announce that Dalton Castle will defend the ROH World Title against Lethal at ROH’s 16th Anniversary pay-per-view on March 9.

Before Lethal had a chance to comment, Marty Scurll interrupted and wondered why he isn’t getting the title opportunity. Lethal said he’s beaten a long line of people, including Scurll. Scurll asked Lethal to give him the first title shot after he wins the championship from Castle. Lethal said he has no problem beating Scurll again.

WOH video package: Preview of Karen Q vs. Brandi Rhodes

Brandi said she is the biggest underdog in the Women of Honor Title Tournament, as she’s only been wrestling for less than two years, but she said she has been making gains. Karen bragged about her wins over Deonna Purrazzo, Sumie Sakai and Stella Grey and said there will be no stopping her from winning the tournament.

Women of Honor Title Tournament First-Round Match: Karen Q vs. Brandi Rhodes

Karen attacked Brandi from behind before the bell and was on the offensive for a good portion of the match. Brandi, however, proved resilient. As Brandi springboarded off the bottom rope to avoid the charging Karen, Brandi appeared to land awkwardly on her left ankle. The referee tried to check on her, but Karen smelled blood in the water. As Karen tried to pick up Brandi to finish her off, Brandi caught her in an inside cradle to pull off the upset. After the match, it was apparent that Brandi’s ankle injury was a ruse.

Brandi advances to the quarterfinals, where she will meet the winner of the first-round match between Stacy Shadows and Tenille Dashwood.

Marty Scurll Challenges Dalton Castle

As ROH World Champion Dalton Castle was just starting to speak in a backstage segment, Scurll interrupted. Scurll pointed out that his debut match in ROH was a victory over Castle, and he said he would like to be considered as Castle’s next challenger after Castle beats Jay Lethal. Castle replied, “I don’t think you know what you’re asking for.”

ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match: The Hung Bucks (Adam Page and The Young Bucks Matt and Nick Jackson) (champions) vs. SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky)
The Hung Bucks were hitting on all cylinders and took it to SoCal Uncensored for the majority of the match. However, just when it appeared that a successful title defense was imminent, the cunning challengers turned the tide with their duplicitous tactics. As Matt Jackson had Daniels trapped in a sharpshooter, Kazarian pulled the referee out of the ring. Distracted by Kazarian, the referee did not see Daniels tapping out. Nor did he see Scorpio Sky clobber Matt with one of the championship belts. The referee did, however, see Daniels covering Matt, and he made the three count. SoCal Uncensored were announced as the new champions and presented the belts.

Suddenly, Bully Ray came down to ringside and said ROH has become like the Wild West and is lacking honor. He said he just got off the phone with ROH COO Joe Koff, and Koff told him to do whatever it takes to restore order. Bully asked the crowd if the match should be restarted, and the fans enthusiastically responded in the affirmative. Bully called the for match to be restarted.

The Hung Bucks immediately hit simultaneous superkicks on SoCal Uncensored. The Young Bucks followed with a Five Star Meltzer Driver on Daniels for the win.

“Karen has everything to lose and I have everything to gain. I love a good Cinderella story, don’t you?”

-- Brandi Rhodes, prior to her match against Karen Q

“Does that mean she tries to be lingual?”

-- Colt Cabana, in response to broadcast partner Ian Riccaboni saying that Karen Q is trilingual

“I don’t want to be a boss. I don’t want to be a general manager. And I sure as hell don’t want to be an authority figure. What I am going to be is an enforcer. And I’m going to enforce the Code of Honor that guys like Nigel McGuinness started a long time ago.”
