WOH Championship To Be Defended For The First Time In Chicago

Sumie Sakai became the first-ever Women of Honor Champion when she defeated “The Gatekeeper” Kelly Klein with a devasting DDT at Supercard of Honor, winning the championship and becoming the first woman to ever pin Klein.

Sakai’s legacy was forever cemented with the victory and her quest to become legendary begins now as champion. Her first test, however, could be her last as champion, when former tag team partner and protégé Jenny Rose is the first challenger for the Women of Honor Championship!

WOMEN OF HONOR CHAMPIONSHIP
WOMEN OF HONOR CHAMPION SUMIE SAKAI vs. JENNY ROSE

Sumie Sakai has become a fixture in Japanese and American women’s professional wrestling and in the earlier half of this decade, Sumie served as in inspiration to Jenny Rose. Jenny was breaking into wrestling through the ROH Dojo and would become skilled enough to compete all around the globe with organizations like Seadlinnng and Diana before competing in Women of Honor’s Japanese partner, STARDOM.
Rose and Sakai had long embraced a mentor/mentee relationship and tagged quite frequently in Women of Honor competition. But it was a moment at Mahattan Mayhem that caught the eye of Jenny. In a moment where Jenny needed to tag out, Sumie was not on the apron.

Jenny said in Pittsburgh she understands the moment was just business and that she is excited and proud that Sumie is the first-ever Women of Honor Champion. But then Jenny issued a challenge: it is just business, she wants the first shot at the Women of Honor Championship!

In Chicago, it is official! Sumie Sakai defends the Women of Honor Championship against protégé and tag team partner Jenny Rose! Will Jenny’s claims of business and no hard feelings hold up or will one of these stars do whatever it takes, including perhaps bending the rules, to ensure they walk out Women of Honor Champion?
