Jay and Mark Briscoe haven’t just been the best tag team in ROH during the past decade, they’ve been the best tag team in ROH for nearly two decades. Moreover, they have to be included when discussing the greatest tag teams in pro wrestling history.
The Briscoes began the 2010s as ROH World Tag Team champions and nearly ended the decade the same way (they lost the title on Dec. 13 on ROH’s second-to-last show of 2019).
The Briscoes, who appeared on the very first ROH show in 2002, won five of their record 11 ROH World Tag Team Titles in the past decade. During that time, they defeated such teams as The Young Bucks, Guerrillas of Destiny, SoCal Uncensored, The Addiction, Motor City Machine Guns, American Wolves, War Machine, and numerous others.
Considering the Briscoes’ risk-taking, ultra-violent in-ring style, it’s an amazing testament to their toughness, talent and tenacity that they’re as good now as they’ve ever been -- perhaps even better.
