RUSH And Bandido Collide At 17th Anniversary

Las Vegas is known for big fights and bright lights, so what better city for The Best Wrestling on the Planet to celebrate its birthday in? On March 15 at Sam’s Town Live in Sin City, Ring of Honor presents its 17th Anniversary show live on pay-per-view and for HonorClub VIP.

The show takes place three weeks before the historic G1 Supercard at sold-out Madison Square Garden, so what happens at 17th Anniversary in Vegas will not stay in Vegas; the ramifications will surely be felt at The World’s Most Famous Arena in New York City on April 6.

A dream match has been signed for Anniversary, as Mexican stars RUSH and Bandido face each other for the first time ever in a potential show-stealing showdown.

RUSH vs. BANDIDO

RUSH is an established star in Mexico, while Bandido is rapidly rising up the ranks there. With both of them having signed with ROH recently, it was inevitable that the supremely talented and charismatic competitors would cross paths sooner or later. It turned out to be sooner.

Moments after RUSH’s victory at ROH’s international television taping in Lakeland, Fla,. over the weekend, he reiterated in a backstage interview that he came to ROH to be the top star in the company and was coming for all the big names. Bandido interrupted and said that he knows and respects what RUSH has accomplished in Mexico and around the world, but he is the top Mexican wrestler in ROH.

Bandido said he would prove it, and he challenged RUSH to a match. The masked luchador extended his hand to seal the deal. RUSH accepted the challenge, but he declined to shake hands. Instead, he called Bandido a perro (dog) and walked away.

RUSH, a highly decorated competitor in CMLL, has the edge in size and experience, but Bandido is one of the most sensational young athletes in the sport. Both have been impressive since making their recent debuts in ROH.

In RUSH’s only singles matches in ROH thus far, he defeated Kingdom members TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia. Bandido, meanwhile, has scored victories over the likes of Silas Young, Mark Haskins, Rocky Romero and PJ Black. As a member of LifeBlood, Bandido also has been on the winning side in a handful of six-man, eight-man and 10-man tag matches.

Which of these outstanding competitors will taste defeat for the first time? Join us in-person in Las Vegas, on pay-per-view or streaming for HonorClub VIP to find out!
