ROH Stars Visit North Carolina Children's Hospital

On Friday, February 9, just hours before Ring of Honor went live around the globe with Honor Reigns Supreme, Ring of Honor stars Caprice Coleman and Punishment Martinez, Women of Honor star “The Gatekeeper” Kelly Klein, and broadcaster Ian Riccaboni visited the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital in Concord, North Carolina. There, the group toured the children’s facility, meeting patients and their families.

The visit continues an ongoing trend of ROH stars finding ways to give back to communities that welcome them for ROH events. “It is really important as representatives of a company that is given so much by the fans that buy tickets to our events in their hometowns that we find a way to give back,” Riccaboni told “With Caprice and I being fathers, Kelly’s connection to kids as a teacher, and so many ROH stars becoming wrestlers because of their childhood dreams, these visits give us so much; we get as much or more from these visits then the children or their families,” he continued.

This was Ring of Honor’s first visit to the Jeff Gordon facility. There, the stars colored and played video games with patients before breaking out into impromptu song and dance with Coleman on drums, Martinez on a plastic guitar, and Klein and Riccaboni singing in the activity room. They were able to visit every patient before heading to the Cabarrus Arena later that evening to take part in the first-ever free live stream of Honor Reigns Supreme.

“To meet these strong kids, their families, and the talented doctors, nurses, and staff that help each one get better gives me such a boost before we go on air,” Riccaboni continued, “You can’t help but leave inspired and ready to tackle the day by everyone you meet. We are so fortunate to be welcomed into these facilities and they are experiences none of us will forget any time soon.”
