Kelly Klein vs. Madison Rayne
Klein, who suffered her first pinfall loss when she was defeated by Sumie Sakai in the finals of the Women of Honor Title Tournament last month, appeared to be off her game in the early going, as Rayne stayed one step ahead of her. Rayne seemingly was on her way to victory after hitting her Rayne Drop finisher, but Klein kicked out at two. Klein eventually overpowered Rayne and went on to win after landing a vicious knee strike to the face.
SoCal Uncensored looks to take down Bullet Club
In a backstage segment, the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions said they were looking forward to facing Bullet Club next week. Scorpio Sky said there is dissension in Bullet Club, but SCU is a well-oiled fighting Machine. He said that before Bullet Club can handle their inner turmoil, SCU will tear them apart.
Jay Lethal sets sights on Punishment Martinez
In a backstage segment, Lethal said that Martinez may be bigger and stronger than him, but this isn’t a powerlifting contest or boxing match, it’s pro wrestling, and Martinez will be stepping into the ring with one of the best when they meet next week. Lethal said that Martinez has a victory over him, which he plans to avenge.
Motor City Machine Guns at crossroads
The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) came to the ring to discuss their future. Sabin said the goal when he and Shelley got back together was to become ROH World Tag Team Champions, and they accomplished that, but now that they’re no longer champions the question becomes where they go from here. Sabin said they’re not sure if they should go their separate ways or stay together as a team. Sabin told Shelley that no matter what happens, they are brothers for life. They hugged.
The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara) came out to interrupt. Titus said that his favorite movie is “Old Yeller,” and sometimes you have to put Old Yeller out to pasture. The Dawgs jumped Sabin and Shelley. A referee came out and an impromptu match between the two teams got underway.
Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) vs. The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara)
Surprisingly, The Dawgs were in control for the majority of the match. Titus came off the top for the Big Dawg Splash onto Sabin, but Shelley made the save just in time. MCGM rallied and went on to hit Skull and Bones on Titus for the win.
Young Bucks are ready for The Briscoes
In a backstage segment, The Young Bucks said they will defeat The Briscoes tonight to become four-time ROH World Tag Team Champions and prove they are the greatest of all time.
Facade (w/Danni) vs. Eli Isom
After several minutes of back-and-forth action between these two top prospects, Facade gained the upper hand by connecting on a spectacular springboard 450 clothesline onto Isom outside the ring. Bully Ray then hit the ring and attacked both competitors. He tossed Isom over the top rope and then turned his attention to Facade, who was down on the mat and being checked on by Danni. Bully intimidated Danni, who quickly exited the ring. Bully tossed Facade over the top rope and then grabbed a microphone.
He said that as ROH enforcer, he was firing Facade and Isom. Cheeseburger came out, got in Bully’s face and used an expletive to tell him exactly what he thought of him. Bully responded with a chokeslam.
ROH COO Joe Koff came out to the stage and said that he regretted giving Bully Ray a chance. Koff told Bully that he was firing him as ROH enforcer. Bully said that he’s officially unretired, and then he put on his WWE Hall of Fame ring.
Bullet Club is fine … maybe
In a backstage segment with Bullet Club (Cody, Marty Scurll and Adam Page), they said they will defeat SoCal Uncensored next week, which should then earn them a shot at SCU’s ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. Cody said after that he will regain the ROH World Title at the Best in the World pay-per-view. Scurll said he’s pretty sure he’s scheduled to face Dalton Castle for the title at BITW. As Scurll and Cody disagreed. Page intervened and tried to get them focused on SCU.
ROH World Tag Team Title Match: Jay and Mark Briscoe (champions) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson)
The Briscoes sent the tone right from the outset by throwing chairs into the ring. In a match that started hot and maintained a feverish pace,The Bucks gained the first near fall after hitting a Frog Splash/Standing Shooting Star combination on Mark Briscoe. The Briscoes later hit an inverted 3D on Matt Jackson for a near fall.
It looked like a sure victory for The Briscoes after Jay Briscoe planted Matt Jackson with the Jay Driller, but Matt miraculously kicked out at the last second. The Bucks rallied and set up Jay Briscoe for the Five-Star Meltzer Driver. Before The Bucks could execute the move, however, Mark Briscoe blasted Nick Jackson with a chair. The referee called for the bell and awarded the decision to The Bucks by disqualification.
After the match, The Briscoes continued to assault The Bucks with chair shots, including one to Matt Jackson’s head that busted him open. The Briscoes then superplexed Matt, who has been dealing with back issues for some time, off the top rope onto a pile of chairs. Adam Page and Flip Gordon came out to try to make the save, but Mark Briscoe sneaked up behind them and nailed them in their backs with a chair. Cody then came out with a chair of his own, but The Briscoes overpowered him and hit him in the head with a chair.
With The Bucks, Cody, Page and Gordon down, The Briscoes grabbed their title belts and stood tall as they were showered with boos.
