RECAP

The Kingdom runs down the gauntlet

In a backstage segment, Matt Taven said it’s unfair that “all these Melvins” in the five-team gauntlet match are getting an opportunity for a shot at The Kingdom’s ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles. He said that when all is said and done, The Kingdom will remain champions.

Kelly Klein vs. Jenny Rose

In this matchup between two of the top contenders for Sumie Sakai’s Women of Honor Championship, Rose gained the early advantage by out-wrestling Klein. A moment of hesitation cost Rose, however, as Klein caught her with a back elbow to the face.

After that, Klein dominated Rose and began toying with her, but Rose halted Klein’s momentum by connecting with a pair of knees to the jaw. Rose then hit a German suplex and spear for a near fall. Klein answered with a snap suplex and rolled right into the End of the Match guillotine choke. Rose refused to tap out, but she eventually went limp and the referee called for the bell.

The Dawgs hit up Cody

In a backstage segment, The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara) found Cody in his dressing room. They asked him for some money so they could pay Shane Taylor to be their partner in the gauntlet match. Cody said he has no money to give them.

The Dawgs said maybe they’ll go ask Marty Scurll for money. Cody seemed to take offense to that. He said Scurll doesn’t have any money. Cody then pulled out an envelope filled with cash and tossed it to The Dawgs, who enthusiastically scooped up the bills.

Gauntlet Match to determine No. 1 contenders for ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles

The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara) and Shane Taylor vs. Alex Shelley, Jonathan Gresham and LSG

After several minutes of back-and-forth action, LSG -- whose Coast 2 Coast partner Shaheem Ali is recovering from injuries suffered in a car accident -- took out all three of his opponents with a 450 Dive off the top rope to the floor. Back inside the ring, LSG ducked a clothesline from Ferrara and rolled him up for the win.

Alex Shelley, Jonathan Gresham and LSG vs. Silas Young and The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas)

Young and The Bouncers charged the ring and immediately went on the offensive. The Bouncers eventually set up for the Last Call on LSG, but Shelley knocked Bruiser off the top rope on one side of the ring, and Shelley, Gresham and LSG combined to knock Milonas off the top on another. LSG then hit the 450 splash on Milonas for the surprising victory.

Alex Shelley, Jonathan Gresham and LSG vs. SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky)

After two impressive wins, the team of Shelley, Gresham and LSG ran out of gas against a fresh SCU. The former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions hit Celebrity Rehab on LSG to advance.

SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) vs. Kenny King, Chuckie T and Eli Isom

SCU isolated Isom, but he eventually made a tag to King, who took over the match. At one point, King, Chuckie T and Isom took out all three members of SCU and then celebrated with a group hug.

SCU rallied, however, as Kazarian hit a diving hurricanrana over the top rope on King, and Sky landed a flip dive onto Chuckie T on the floor on the opposite side. Daniels now had Isom alone in the ring. The veteran set up for Angel’s Wings, but the rookie countered with a backdrop and landed on top of Daniels, who was unable to kick out before the three count.

With the upset victory, the makeshift team of King, Chuckie T and Isom earned a future shot at The Kingdom’s ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles.
