RECAP

Proving Ground Match: ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor vs. Rhett Titus

If Titus defeats Taylor or lasts the 15-minute time limit, he will receive a future shot at Taylor’s title. Titus’ unorthodox behavior frustrated Taylor in the early going, but Taylor soon began to brutalize him. Titus rallied, and he had Taylor reeling after nailing him with three successive running kicks in the corner. Titus hit a Samoan Drop for a two count. Taylor shook it off and hit a knee to the face and a devastating headbutt for the win.

After the match, Kenny King -- who had been sitting in on commentary -- left the announce table and entered the ring to confront Titus, his former tag partner in The All Night Express and former teammate in The Rebellion. King said he was disgusted by Titus. He asked Titus what has happened to him. King said he and Titus defeated the Briscoes and Young Bucks in this building, but now Titus proved that he has no heart. King said if he was ROH COO Joe Koff he’d rip up Titus’ contract right now.

King then pointed out Titus’ pregnant wife in the front row and said that Titus embarrassed her. King said that Titus’ son doesn’t want to look him in the face because his father’s a coward. Titus fired up and got in King’s face, but then decided to walk away.

Kelly Klein welcome all challengers

Backstage, the Women of Honor World Champion said that WOH has some of the best competitors women’s wrestling has to offer, and she loves it because it means she gets to defend her title against the best athletes in the world. She specifically mentioned Maria Manic, Tasha Steelz, The Allure, Stella Grey and Jenny Rose.

Clip: Alex Shelly returns, asks for ROH World Title shot

In a segment taped June 29, ROH World Champion Matt Taven and Jay Lethal engaged in a war of words regarding their title match at Manhattan Mayhem on July 20 (streaming live for Honor Club). Shelley interrupted them. Saying that he’s playing the “veteran’s card,” Shelley challenged the winner of their match to put the title on the line against him. ROH officials have granted Shelley his wish. He will challenge for the ROH World Title at Summer Supercard in Toronto on Aug. 9.

Four Corner Survival Match for a WOH World Title Shot: The Allure’s Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky and Mandy Leon) vs. Tasha Steelz vs. Stella Grey vs. Jenny Rose

The winner of this match challenges WOH World Champion Kelly Klein at Summer Supercard in Toronto on Aug. 9. Before the match began, Sky grabbed a microphone and said Love was the only woman in the ring who matters. She said Love proved herself by defeating Klein at the Best in the World pay-per-view (in a tag match on June 28).

During the match, Leon tripped Steelz, and the referee caught her. He ordered Leon and Sky to go to the back. Love hit a crossbody off the top rope onto all three of her opponents on the floor. Love then turned her attention to Klein, who was sitting in on commentary, and taunted her. Klein left the announce table and stood in the aisle. While Love stood on the middle turnbuckle and yelled at Klein, Rose and Grey joined forces to powerbomb her.

Love came back to hit Botox Injection on Rose, but Grey broke up the pin. Love then hit Botox Injection on Grey. Steelz dumped Love out of the ring and hit a cutter on Grey for the victory.

After the match, Steelz and Love began jawing at one another. The lights went out. Maria Manic’s entrance video played. When the lights came back on, Manic was standing in the ring across from Steelz and Love. Love exited the ring, while Steelz faced off with Manic. Security hit the ring, and Steelz left. Manic stood her ground and then suddenly began assaulting all four male security members. She quickly disposed of them and stood tall.

RUSH issues a warning to Dalton Castle

Backstage, RUSH said that he’s sick and tired of Castle. He was angry that Castle messed with his family (Castle defeated RUSH’s younger brother, Dragon Lee, with RUSH’s finishing move at the Best in the World pay-per-view). RUSH said he didn’t come to ROH to play.

Jay Lethal and The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser and Brawler Milonas) vs. The Kingdom (ROH World Champion Matt Taven, TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia)

Before the match began, Lethal demanded that timekeeper Amy Rose leave ringside. Rose’s interference cost Lethal his match -- and the best-of-three series -- with Kenny King at Best in the World.

Lethal got the better of each Kingdom member individually in the early stages of the match, but The Kingdom pulled together and began triple-teaming him. Eventually, Bruiser and Milonas seized control of the match. Milonas hit a Samoan Drop/fallaway slam combination on Taven and O’Ryan. Lethal connected on suicide dives on each Kingdon member. The Bouncers then hit Closing Time on O’Ryan for the win.

After the match, Taven hit Climax on Lethal on the floor.

THEY SAID IT

“Your pregnant wife is sitting right there. You think she’s proud to be carrying your baby when she has more balls than you do?”
