Cody and Marty Scurll have words

Cody came out to the ring and said that he has taken the leadership role in Bullet Club and now the time is right for his ROH World Title rematch. He said it’s bittersweet because his title match against Dalton Castle at Best in the World on June 29 is a triple threat that includes his “Bullet Club subordinate, Marty Scurll.”

Scurll came out and said that Cody loves to tell everyone how good he is, but Scurll doesn’t need to do that because everyone knows how great he is. He said Cody will find out at Best in the World just how good he is. Scurll then offered a “gentleman’s handshake.”

Cody shook Scurll’s hand. Scurll wouldn’t let go and teased that he was going to break Cody’s fingers before releasing him and exited the ring.

ROH World TV Champion Silas Young delivers a message to Austin Aries

In a backstage segment, Young said that he doesn’t want Aries to make any excuses after he beats him tonight.

Karen Q vs. Tenille Dashwood

Karen Q, competing for the first time in ROH since being upset by Brandi Rhodes in the opening round of the Women of Honor Title Tournament earlier this year, was aggressive from the start, but Dashwood remained one step ahead of her in the early going.

Dashwood let her guard down for a moment, however, and Karen pounced. Karen targeted Dashwood’s lower back and trapped her in a Boston Crab, but Dashwood made it to the ropes to force a break. Karen went for another Boston Crab, but Dashwood countered with a pinning combination for the win.

ROH World Television Title Match: Silas Young (champion) vs. Austin Aries

Aries, competing in an ROH match for the first time in nearly three years, entered the ring with three championship belts from other promotions. The bout began as a wrestling match but quickly degenerated into a fight.

After several minutes of fierce, back-and-forth action, Young hoisted the two-time former ROH World Champion onto his shoulders to set up for Misery, but in doing so Aries inadvertently kicked the referee in the head, knocking him down. Aries prepared to hit a move off the top rope, but Young’s friend Beer City Bruiser came down to ringside. Kenny King was hot on Bruiser’s trail, however, and prevented him from interfering in the match.

Young recovered and tripped Aries, who landed groin-first on the top rope. With the referee still down, Young grabbed the TV Title belt and looked to use it as a weapon, but King took it from Young and nailed him in the head with it. Aries covered Young, and the referee made the three count.

It appeared that Aries had won the title, but senior referee Todd Sinclair came down to the ring and disqualified Aries for outside interference. Shockingly, an incensed Aries kicked Sinclair low. Then he low-blowed his friend King and put him in the Last Chancery.
