After a brief hiatus, “Being The Elite,” the popular YouTube series featuring Kenny Omega and Ring of Honor stars The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), Cody, Marty Scurll, Adam Page and Flip Gordon, returned with a new episode this week. With that in mind, here are five things we’d like to see on “BTE” this season:
5. ANOTHER INVASION
One of the most talked-about episodes of “Being The Elite” chronicled their invasion of the sports entertainment show that airs on Monday nights. That raises the question: Is the “BTE” crew busy on Tuesdays?
4. NEW MUSICAL DIRECTION FOR MARTY SCURLL
Not only is Scurll one of the best wrestlers in the world -- and he wants an opportunity to prove that he is the very best at the Best in the World pay-per-view June 29 -- but we learned on “BTE” that he’s also an aspiring pop star. Unfortunately, he lost his recording contract, so his dream of being the next Justin Timberlake is over. We don’t think “The Villain” should throw in the towel on a music career just yet, however. The music business certainly has a place for “Metal Marty,” “Country Marty,” “Rappin’ Marty” or “Broadway Marty,” right?
3. GORDON FLIPS THE SCRIPT ON BUCKS
Flip Gordon, one of the fastest-rising stars in the sport, was “welcomed” to Ring of Honor by The Young Bucks through a series of “harmless ribs” on “BTE.” Gordon probably never wants to hear the phrase “Where do you think you’re going?” ever again. However, we saw recently on Ring of Honor Wrestling and at Supercard of Honor that Gordon and the Bucks have gotten past all of that to become allies. So now that Gordon has been welcomed into the fold, we think it’s only fair that Gordon give the Bucks a receipt in the form of a “harmless rib” of his own.
2. ADAM PAGE INCIDENT WAS JUST A DREAM
Season 1 of “BTE” included a rather disturbing segment in which Page seemed to rub out his nemesis Joey Ryan. For everyone’s sake, we soon hope to see Page waking from a dream and walking into Ryan’s hotel room to find Ryan alive and well in the shower.
1. CODY AND KENNY BURY THE HATCHET
The entire wrestling world has been talking about the Bullet Club civil war between Cody and Kenny Omega, which came to a head at Supercard of Honor, where Cody defeated Omega to claim the title of Bullet Club leader before the largest crowd in ROH history. We hope that Cody and Omega can sit down, talk out their problems and hug it out. … nah, just kidding. Cody and Omega were good friends, but they’re better enemies.
