Rhodes And Rose Compete In Hopes To Reenter WOH Title Picture

The first-ever Women of Honor Champion was crowned at Women of Honor with Sumie Sakai handing Kelly Klein her first loss and capturing the title at Supercard of Honor! With Sumie as the first champion, challengers are lining up from all around the globe. With officials from Stardom on hand, Stardom athletes have already put their names in the hat, including tournament semi-finalist Mayu Iwatani, to get the first shot while Women of Honor athletes are lining up to earn a shot right here in the United States.

Two of the competitors from the Women of Honor Championship tournament will be doing just that in Pittsburgh when Jenny Rose, who, by luck of the draw, had to compete in her first round match in Japan against Kagetsu, takes on the woman that pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament Brandi Rhodes in Pittsburgh in a match that will help establish contenders for the Women of Honor Championship!

JENNY ROSE vs. BRANDI RHODES

Jenny Rose helped establish Women of Honor as a force around the globe by bringing her talents, crafted from her international experience, to the division to add to an increasingly stacked roster.

Brandi Rhodes, an accomplished figure skater and broadcaster with a Master’s Degree from the University of Miami, has thrown herself full-force into professional wrestling, dodging any potential shortcuts she may be able to take advantage of via her marriage to former ROH World Champion Cody.

For both women, the tournament to crown the first-ever Women of Honor Champion had its surprises. Jenny was selected at random to compete in Japan against one of Stardom’s fastest rising stars, Kagetsu, in matches that Stardom had bid to host. Rose’s exit from the tournament was quick but her bout against Kagetsu showed the world why, on short notice and halfway across the globe, Rose can stand in the ring with anybody at any time!

For Brandi, her intellect was the key to victory in Round One against one of the tournament favorites in Karen Q. Karen seemingly had the match won before Brandi feigned an injury, playing on the disruption of the match and the sympathy evoked to pick up a shocking win.

Jenny and Brandi meet in Pittsburgh as the Women of Honor division seeks to establish contenders for Sumie’s Championship. While a win won’t guarantee a title shot, it would definitely help to make clear a brand-new division’s pecking order!
