Matt and Jeff Hardy Shock The Young Bucks at Manhattan Mayhem

The sold-out crowd inside the Manhattan Center’s Hammerstein Ballroom gasped when the lights were killed following a successful ROH World Tag Team Title defense by the Young Bucks over a very game Jay White and Lio Rush. When the lights came back on, the now-murmuring crowd exploded with a roar that filled the building.

In a moment that will go down as one of the most memorable in Ring of Honor history, Matt and Jeff Hardy were standing face to face with Matt and Nick Jackson.

Matt Hardy took the microphone and outlined he and his brother’s intentions. An impromptu challenge was answered by the Bucks and a dream match unfolded! Two of the best teams in the world, two of the greatest of all-time, went back and forth. The Young Bucks, despite being taken to the limit by White and Rush earlier in the night, had Matt and Jeff Hardy right where they wanted them. But a Twist of Fate by Matt Hardy followed by a Swanton Bomb by Jeff Hardy was the difference and the Hardys seemingly captured the ROH World Tag Team Championships!

After confirming with the ROH Board of Directors, the match result remains valid and the Hardys are the NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions!

Following the match, Matt and Jeff Hardy took the microphone and addressed the sold-out Hammerstein Ballroom. The Hardys stated they would be at the 15th Anniversary Pay Per View on Friday, March 10. But where does that leave Roppongi Vice, a team that was supposed to challenge the Bucks for the World Tag Team Championships in a Vegas Street Fight?

At this time, ROHWrestling.com can confirm that the Hardys will be at the 15th Anniversary Pay Per View, wrestling at the international television taping the following night on Saturday March 11, and that the Young Bucks will face the Hardys on Saturday April 1.

The Hardys surprise appearance and ROH World Tag Team Title win has put that at the very top of the deepest tag team division in the world and has thrown a wrench into scheduled title matches! The ROH Board of Directors has pledged to sort out the schedule for the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Will they be added to the Vegas Street Fight? Will they defend against Roppongi Vice or the Young Bucks 2-on-2 at the Pay Per View? Keep it locked in to ROHWrestling.com for the latest on the NEW ROH World Tag Team Champions, the Hardys!
