Ian Riccaboni To Throw First Pitch In Hometown

Ring of Honor’s lead announcer Ian Riccaboni will be throwing out the first pitch in his hometown, Allentown, PA at Coca Cola Park on Friday August 24, 2018 when the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs take on the Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders!

Riccaboni was born and raised in Allentown where he was a batboy for the city’s first professional team in 37 years, the Allentown Ambassadors, while in middle school and played baseball for Allentown’s Salisbury High School before playing at New York University. Riccaboni then covered the IronPigs as part of Phillies Nation TV from 2012 to 2015 and wrote a best-selling book, The 100 Greatest Phillies of All Time, about the ‘Pigs parent club, the Philadelphia Phillies, in 2015.

“It will truly be a honor to throw out a first pitch in such a great ballpark for a great organization in my hometown,” Riccaboni told ROHWrestling.com. “I played a small part in the return of professional baseball returning to our Queen City as a batboy with the Ambassadors and I am blown away watching what the IronPigs have accomplished in their 11 seasons.”

“From their community engagement to their innovative in-game presentation, it excites me to be a part of their first pitch proceedings!” he continued.

Riccaboni throws out a ceremonial first pitch just one night before ROH returns to Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena for Philadelphia Excellence, an International Television Taping!
