FTR Successfully Defends ROH, AAA Tag Titles Against Young Bucks In Instant Classic On AEW Dynamite

In a rematch that was 18 months in the making, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) successfully defended their newly won ROH World Tag Team Title and the AAA Tag Team Title against The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) in a thrilling main event on AEW Dynamite Wednesday night before a sold-out crowd at Boston’s Agganis Arena.

After 20 minutes of back-and-forth action, FTR countered the Buck’s Meltzer Driver with a powerbomb/tombstone combination. FTR then hit a BTE Trigger on Matt Jackson, mocked him with a kiss on his cheeks, and followed with the Big Rig for the victory.

With the impressive win, FTR solidified its status as the best tag team in the sport. FTR also avenged its loss of the AEW World Tag Team Title to the Bucks at AEW Full Gear in November 2020.

Harwood and Wheeler, who have held the AAA Tag Team Title since October, won the ROH World Tag Team Title from the Briscoes in an epic encounter at Supercard of Honor last week that is being talked about as a Match of the Year candidate.

The Bucks, who are three-time former ROH World Tag Team Champions, were looking to win the belts for the first time since 2017.
