Flip Can Become NWA Champion And All In With One Win

The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship has a lineage that dates back to 1948 and Orville Brown and has been held by such stars as Lou Thesz, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race, Colt Cabana, and other larger-than-life competitors.

In recent weeks, the reigning NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis has been challenged by all comers, including but not limited to the former Champion Tim Storm, Jocephus, and more. However, the loudest and clearest challenge came in the form of a man with a familial tie to the Ten Pounds of Gold.

“The American Nightmare” Cody and the Young Bucks sold over ten thousand tickets in 36 minutes to their history-making All In event. With his name on the marquee, Cody wants a shot at the title his father held three times. But the gambler has run into the dealer: Aldis is an astute businessman and he has had a number of demands for his participation in the event, realizing that he holds all of the leverage.

But the leverage comes under the assumption that he is still NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion on September 1. And being a fighting champion, Aldis is maintaining an international schedule of defenses heading into All In. In Nashville, he faces a man desperate to get himself on the All In card himself!

NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
NWA WORLDS HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION NICK ALDIS vs. FLIP GORDON

In just over one year in ROH, Flip Gordon has taken the world by storm, currying the favor of one of the biggest tag teams in pro wrestling, The Young Bucks, while competing in ROH, CMLL, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling!

Early into his first ROH contract, Gordon was hazed and “welcomed” to Ring of Honor by Bullet Club, most notably Cody. Since then, Flip has formed a friendship with Cody’s wife Brandi Rhodes, become best friends with the Young Bucks, toured Japan with Bullet Club’s Marty Scurll, and more.

But he has not been able to secure the respect of Cody, at least enough so to get on to Cody and the Young Bucks’ All In event. There is one way, however: win the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. Then, not only would Flip be All In, but would have a shot to prove himself against the man himself while having exactly what Cody wants on Cody’s event.

The NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship returns to Ring of Honor – can Aldis retain on his whirlwind international schedule and maintain the Championship through All In or will Flip capture the gold and potentially punch his ticket to All In?

For Aldis, it was just who he anticipated. And he is not a man to back down from any challenge, especially with a high-profile, a reign of over 200 days with wins over Colt Cabana, Lance Hoyt, David Starr, James Ellsworth, and more with a big money match on the horizon if he can pull out the victory:
