Coming hot off the heels of the sold-out War of the Worlds 2017 Tour in North America, ROH is thrilled to announce, in conjunction with NJPW, CMLL and Revolution Pro Wrestling, the first-ever War of the Worlds UK Tour from August 18th, 2017 – August 20th, 2017! With stronger-than-ever partnerships, stars from the top professional wrestling organizations in the world will do battle over the course of three nights!
The tour comes in overwhelming response to not only the resoundingly successful ROH Reach for the Sky UK Tour, but also to the rapid sellouts of Ring of Honor, New Japan, CMLL, and Rev Pro events around the globe. The match possibilities are endless, dream teams could be formed, and various championships WILL be contested!
Officials from all four companies have been meeting throughout the early parts of the summer creating and signing matches the fans want to see. And a brawl between two bruisers will take place in Edinburgh!
ROH WORLD SIX MAN TAG TEAM CHAMPION BULLY RAY vs. NEVER OPENWEIGHT SIX MEN TAG TEAM CHAMPION EVIL
At War of the Worlds – Dearborn, Bully Ray and the Briscoes successfully defend the ROH World Six Man Tag Team titles against Los Ingobernables de Japon, represented by BUSHI, SANADA, and EVIL. The bout was contested under no disqualification rules and ultimately things got a bit hardcore. In a match that would air on ROH Television, LIJ extracted a measure of revenge, teaming with Naito to defeat Bully Ray, the Briscoes, and Dalton Castle. But there were two men with which bad blood began to boil. Coming out of the War of the Worlds tour, both Bully Ray and EVIL petitioned ROH and NJPW for a singles bout to solve issues that occurred during the match. And in Edinburgh, we will see the two go one on one for the first time!
The legendary Bully Ray has been among the top stars in ROH since making his shocking debut at March’s Manhattan Mayhem. Bully Ray has been undefeated in singles competition and has been a third of arguably the most successful team in the growing six-man tag team division! Standing across the ring from him in Edinburgh was a man who has been identified as one of 2017’s breakout stars, EVIL!
EVIL has been nearly unstoppable in tag team action, whether it has been two-on-two, six-man, eight-man, or even ten-man tag team competition. And in the New Japan Cup, EVIL demonstrated that he has the capacity to turn tag team success into singles gold, with wins over two of the best-ever in Hiroshi Tanahashi and Yuji Nagata!
