The pursuit of ROH World Tag Team Championship win number nine for the Briscoes lasted nearly five years. But in that time, the most dominant and accomplished tag team in ROH history accomplished many things along the way, including Jay Briscoe winning the ROH World Championship twice and Mark Briscoe becoming a top contender for not only the ROH World Television Championship but also his brother’s World Title!
Their pursuit of the Tag Team titles truly heated up after the duo turned their back on Bully Ray precipitating the loss of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships and since then it has been exceedingly rare to see either Briscoe in singles action.
In Atlanta, that changes when two of the most-accomplished singles stars in ROH history meet one-on-one. Ardent ROH fans will remember that these two stars met in the finals of the Decade of Excellence Tournament in the very building, Center Stage, that they will be competing in again just over 18 months ago, a win that propelled Christopher Daniels to the ROH World Championship. But this match is more about revenge than any singles’ championship opportunity!

Following the conclusion of an instant classic championship defense by the Briscoes against the Young Bucks at Best in the World, long-time Young Bucks rivals The Addiction made their way to ringside with SoCal Uncensored stablemate Scorpio Sky. Instead of striking The Bucks as one may have anticipated, Daniels and Kazarian took their shots at the ROH World Tag Team Champions The Briscoes instead!
Jay Briscoe will be out for blood in Atlanta but is this a ploy by SCU to throw one-half of the World Tag Team Champions off his game ahead of a potential World Tag Team Title shot?
