Having been a top star in Mexico for nearly a decade, “El Toro Blanco” RUSH charged into ROH in 2019 and was unstoppable for nearly the entire year. The ultra-intense RUSH was not pinned or forced to submit until Dec. 13, when PCO scored a three count on him in a wild brawl to win the ROH World Title at Final Battle.
RUSH captured the ROH World Championship from Matt Taven at Death Before Dishonor on Sept. 27. In the months prior, RUSH defeated such stars as former ROH World Champion Dalton Castle, Bandido, Flip Gordon and Mark Haskins, to name a few. RUSH’s shocking, 16-second win over Castle before a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden in April was one of the most talked-about moments from the historic G1 Supercard show.
After winning the ROH World Title, RUSH made successful defenses against Jeff Cobb and Silas Young. RUSH also participated in one of the best matches of the year, when he and brother Dragon Lee defeated the Briscoes in June.
At the end of 2019, RUSH formed La Faccion Ingobernable with Lee, Kenny King and Amy Rose. Now that he has backup, 2020 could possibly be an even bigger year for RUSH.
