8/25/19 - Honor For All 2019 - Nashville, TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Jeff Cobb earned a future shot at the ROH World Title by winning a Defy or Deny Match over ROH World Champion Matt Taven, Jay Lethal and Kenny King at Honor for All last night.

Before the show, it was announced that PCO, who received 17 stitches above his right eye during a match the night before in Atlanta, was not medically cleared to compete. Therefore, the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match between champions Villain Enterprises (PCO, Marty Scurll and Brody King) and LifeBlood (Bandido, Mark Haskins and Tracy Williams) was changed to a tag match pitting Scurll and King against Bandido and Haskins, with the winner receiving a shot at the ROH World Tag Team Title at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 27 in Las Vegas.

In other matches last night: ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe defended their title against the legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson); Shane Taylor put his ROH World Television Title on the line against Bullet Club’s Chase Owens; the undefeated RUSH took on The Kingdom’s Vincent, and more!

RECAP

The Bouncers (Beer City Bruiser and Brawler Milonas) vs. Coast 2 Coast (LSG and Shaheem Ali) vs. CMLL stars Okumura and Felino

Felino hit a sunset flip powerbomb on Ali but The Bouncers broke up the pin. Felino went for a crossbody off the top rope to the floor, but The Bouncers caught him and Milonas slammed him. Coast 2 Coast gained the upper hand for a stretch, but The Bouncers rallied and hit Closing Time on Ali for the win. After the match, The Bouncers did the Toast of Honor with Okumura and Felino.

During the match, The Boys watched the action from the back of the stage.

PCO is here!

An enraged PCO stormed down to the ring. Six members of security tried to usher him to the back, but he destroyed all of them, including putting one of them through a table on the floor with a cannonball off the top rope. Flip Gordon, PCO’s fellow Villain Enterprises member, came down to the ring to try to reason with him, but PCO shoved him down. Eventually, Gordon convinced him to come to the back with him.

Eli Isom  (w/Cheeseburger) vs. Dalton Castle

Before the match could get started, Castle called out Joe Hendry, who had interrupted Castle the night before in Atlanta. Hendry came out. Castle said that Hendry doesn’t realize what he’s capable of. He told Hendry to take a seat in the front row and watch him beat up Isom. Hendry said he’ll defeat Isom, and Castle can take a seat. They continued to argue until Isom intervened. Isom challenged the two of them to face him and Cheeseburger in a tag match. Castle and Hendry agreed.

Dalton Castle and Joe Hendry vs. Eli Isom and Cheeseburger

Castle and Hendry isolated Cheeseburger, but their bickering gave Cheeseburger an opening to tag in Isom. Isom hit a springboard moonsault onto Castle and Hendry on the floor. Later, Castle got Isom up for Bang-a-Rang, but Hendry pulled Isom off, pushed Castle aside and hit a Codebreaker on Isom for the win.

The Allure’s Angelina Love (w/Mandy Leon) vs. Damaris Dawkins vs. Jenny Rose vs. Sumie Sakai

Before the match, Love grabbed a microphone and said that she should already be the No.1 contender for pinning Women of Honor World Champion Kelly Klein in a tag match at Best in the World in June. Love said she doesn’t need to be in this match. She and Leon started heading to the back. Dawkins and Rose followed them and threw them into the ring.

After the bell rang, Love slid to the floor while the other three battled inside the ring. Love picked her spots and only got in the ring when the others were down. Sakai hit Smash Mouth on Rose, but Dawkins made the save. While Love distracted the referee, Leon sprayed hairspray in Sakai’s face. Love hit Botox Injection on Dawkins for the win.

After the match, Maria Manic entered the ring. Love threw Damaris at her. Manic slammed Dawkins and then clotheslined Rose. Klein, who was sitting in on commentary, entered the ring and faced off with Manic. Klein dropped her title belt as she prepared for a fight. Love picked up the belt and hit Klein in the back of the head with it, and then quickly exited to get away from Manic.

Silas Young (w/Josh Woods) vs. PJ Black

Throughout the match, Young repeatedly set up situations for Woods to interfere, but Woods kept missing his opportunity -- seemingly on purpose to get a rise out of Young. Eventually, Young became preoccupied with Woods, and Black rolled him up for the win.

Vincent vs. RUSH

It was announced that Vinny Marseglia now wants to be referred to as Vincent. Vincent took the fight to RUSH, ramming him into the post and barricade. Later, RUSH threw Vincent into the barricade twice and powerbombed him through a table on the floor. Vincent proved resilient, however, and hit Redrum for a near fall. RUSH eventually hit Bull’s Horns for the hard-fought victory.

ROH World Television Title Match: Champion Shane Taylor vs. Chase Owens

Taylor hit a draping stunner on the Bullet Club star for a near fall. Owens, wrestling in his home state, rallied with a flurry of offense, hitting a basement flat-liner and Jewel Heist for near falls. Owens attempted several times to get Taylor up for a package piledriver but couldn’t do it. Taylor landed a headbutt and knee strike for a near fall, and then finished off Owens with Greetings From 216.

ROH World Tag Team Title Match: Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe vs. The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson)

Morton hit a suicide dive on both Briscoes. After the Briscoes gained the advantage, they placed Morton on a table outside the ring. Mark Briscoe went to the top rope, but Gibson shoved him off; Morton got off the table and Mark went crashing through it. Morton and Gibson connected on a double dropkick on Jay Briscoe, but he kicked out of the pin. Morton rolled up Jay for a near fall. Jay came back with a neckbreaker on Morton. Mark hit Froggy Bow on Morton for the win.

After the match, the two legendary teams shook hands, and then the Briscoes gave Morton and Gibson the ring.

LifeBlood’s Bandido and Mark Haskins vs. Villain Enterprises’ Marty Scurll and Brody King

The winner of this match receives a title shot at the ROH World Tag TeamTitle at the Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view on Sept. 27. The evenly matched teams battled back and forth, hitting one hard-hitting move after another in the latest chapter of their intense rivalry. During the latter stages of the bout, Haskins hit Falcon Arrow on Scurll for a near fall. Haskins and Bandido clotheslined King over the top rope to the floor. Bandido hit 21 Plex on Scurll. As Haskins locked in the Sharpshooter on Scurll, Bandido dove onto King outside the ring. Scurll tapped out.

Defy or Deny Elimination Match: ROH World Champion Matt Taven vs. Jay Lethal vs. Jeff Cobb vs. Kenny King (w/Amy Rose)

The rules of this bout are as follows: If Taven wins, whoever is eliminated last cannot challenge for the world title as long as he remains champion. Should one of the three challengers win, they will receive a future ROH World Title shot.

Taven and King worked together to gain the advantage over Lethal and Cobb. Eventually, their alliance fell apart. King hit a Blockbuster on Cobb for a near fall. After all four men landed a series of high-impact moves, everyone was down. Rose grabbed the championship belt, and Lethal demanded that she go to the back. Taven ended up with the belt, and he blasted Cobb with it. The referee disqualified Taven. Taven is eliminated.

While Taven protested to the referee, King grabbed the belt and hit Lethal with it. King followed with Royal Flush and pinned Lethal. Lethal is eliminated.

King attempted Royal Flush on Cobb, but Cobb countered it. Cobb hit Tour of the Islands for the victory. King is eliminated.

With the win, Cobb earned a future ROH World Title match.
