NEWPORT, Wales -- It was bound to happen.

One day before RUSH was scheduled to defend his ROH World Title against Jeff Cobb, champion and challenger teamed up to face PCO and Colt Cabana (replacing the injured Brody King) in the main event of the Honor United UK tour stop in the Newport Centre on Saturday.

RUSH and Cobb were able to coexist well enough to score the victory. As soon as the match was over, however, the obvious tension between them boiled over and they began exchanging blows.

RUSH and Cobb will wrestle each other for the first-time ever in the main event of the final stop on the tour Sunday in Bolton.

Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham opened the show by saying they didn’t owe anyone an explanation for why they bloodied the Briscoes Friday in London. Lethal said he and Gresham will do whatever it takes to win from now on and they want the Briscoes’ ROH World Tag Team Championship.

The Briscoes came out and challenged Lethal and Gresham to a match on the spot, but Lethal and Gresham slid out of the ring and headed up the ramp. Jay Briscoe then suggested Lethal and Gresham be added to the Briscoes’ scheduled match against Kyle Fletcher and Lucky Kid later in the show, Lethal and Gresham accepted.

The Briscoes went on to win the three-way match by hitting Doomsday Device on Lucky Kid. Lethal and Gresham brawled with the Briscoes after the match.

In other action:

Joe Hendry scored arguably the biggest victory of his career by pinning former ROH World Champion Matt Taven.

Taven was setting up for his Climax finisher when Dalton Castle’s music suddenly hit and Castle came out to the stage. Taking advantage of Taven’s slight hesitation to complete the move, Hendry applied an armbar to Taven and rolled him into a cradle for the three count.

Earlier in the show, Castle defeated Hikuleo thanks to Hendry taking a bullet for him. Hikuleo was about to chokeslam Castle through a table outside the ring, but Hendry, who had been sitting in on commentary, stopped him. Hikuleo responded by chokeslamming Hendry on the apron. Shortly thereafter, Castle hit Bang-a-Rang on Hikiuleo for the win.

ROH World Television Champion Shane Taylor and Women of Honor World Champion Kelly Klein both successfully defended their titles against UK competitors, with Taylor defeating Danny Jones, and Klein beating Lana Austin.
