The story of Jimmy Jacobs & Ring of Honor is one that dates back to 2003 when he first made his debut. In the years since “Wrestlerave ‘03”, the ROH faithful have witnessed Jacobs evolve from a bit of a Wildman who held the ROH Tag Titles on 2 occasions with BJ Whitmer, to a bloodthirsty revolutionary who held the ROH World Tag Titles on 2 more occasions with Tyler Black, to a man looking to find redemption for his past at the side of Steve Corino.
The Jimmy Jacobs that was thrown out of Ring of Honor in 2009 was an evil individual, arguably the most evil man in ROH’s history, who simply used up his allies and discarded them at a whim when he was finished. He was a man who quite literally bathed in the blood of Jay Briscoe, who used a spike to assault any man who crossed him, and preached a gospel of social revolution from the pulpit of professional wrestling. Jacobs was also a man running away from his own demons during that time, and some would say being thrown out of ROH was the best thing for his health. In his time away, Jimmy recovered, both mentally, physically, and spiritually, and found a peace within himself he had never felt before. Now, as the sponsor of Steve Corino, Jacobs looks to impart the lessons he learned during those years away to an individual going through similar trials and tribulations. It’s a constant fight to stay on the path, but it is one that Jacobs will gladly fight every day of his life……at least that was the case before “Showdown in the Sun – Day 1” when Jacobs, during the course of the El Generico/Kevin Steen Last Man Standing match, came to the ring, stopped Steen from nailing Generico with a chair but instead used his spike on the Generic Luchador! It seems Jacobs has returned to the dark side he embraced in his Age of the Fall days but where he goes from here is anyone’s guess…
