Danielson had a well-deserved reputation for being one of the greatest technical and submission wrestlers in the world, but he also proved that his wrestling ability was matched only by his toughness. During an ROH World Title defense against Colt Cabana in 2006, Danielson suffered a separated shoulder early in the match but he fought through the pain and ended up going to a 60-minute draw. In a match against then-ROH World Champion Takeshi Morishima in 2007, Danielson suffered a detached retina from a punch to his eye, but he competed for another 15 minutes before he was defeated.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img alt="" src="https://rohwrestlingcom.box.com/shared/static/ap2moajyh769ubi0jxbpbvox4brvqeq7.png" style="height: 323px; width: 650px;" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>4. He won the ROH World Championship the first time in a tournament after the title had been vacated by Jay Briscoe due to an injury. Cole defeated Mark Briscoe and Jay Lethal in the first two rounds before beating Michael Elgin in the finals. Cole’s final reign as ROH World Champion was historic not only because he became the company’s only three-time world champion, but also because the match took place in Tokyo, Japan at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 11, marking the only time the title has changed hands outside of North America.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img alt="" src="https://rohwrestlingcom.box.com/shared/static/gsf8oza3kmvcwp7rjivgruiznwx8glcj.png" style="height: 323px; width: 650px;" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>3. It also remains the longest world title reign in a U.S.-based wrestling company since Ric Flair held the NWA World Heavyweight Title for 793 days in 1984-86. During Joe’s reign, “The Samoan Submission Machine” engaged in a classic series of title defenses against CM Punk. They wrestled to two 60-minute draws, and in their other meeting, Joe scored the victory. Joe made his much-anticipated return to ROH in 2015 after a seven-year absence, but he came up short in his match against then-ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe at Supercard of Honor IX.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img alt="" src="https://rohwrestlingcom.box.com/shared/static/q6vvzyg1yuzyix0n8xt3szbwvme1sjiv.png" style="height: 323px; width: 650px;" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>2. The London native won the latter title by defeating Samoa Joe. During his reign as ROH World Champion, McGuinness successfully defended the title against the likes of Bryan Danielson, Kevin Steen, Tyler Black, El Generico and Claudio Castagnoli. McGuinness, who went on to serve as ROH matchmaker and color commentator for “Ring of Honor Wrestling” for several years after his in-ring career ended, had a longstanding rivalry with Danielson over the ROH World and Pure titles that produced a number of classic matches.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><img alt="" src="https://rohwrestlingcom.box.com/shared/static/fbuzg57165eg71sffi3e7ia4xh8uhk09.png" style="height: 323px; width: 650px;" /></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>1. He is the only man to hold the ROH World and ROH World TV titles simultaneously, as well as the only man to hold all three ROH singles titles. His second reign as ROH World TV Champion lasted a record 567 days, and his 798 combined days as ROH World TV Champion is a record as well. Lethal also owns the fourth-longest ROH World Title reign, at 427 days. One of Lethal’s most high-profile successful title defenses occurred at Final Battle on Dec. 18, 2015, when he defeated AJ Styles. Taven and White battled inside and outside the ring, with White eventually taking control after hitting a nasty-looking brainbuster on the apron. White got several near falls on Taven but couldn’t put him away.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The tide turned in Taven’s favor thanks to his Kingdom brethren -- Marseglia and O’Ryan -- distracting White, but White managed to regain the advantage. White prepared to hit a move off the top rope, &nbsp;but Marseglia distracted the referee, and that allowed O’Ryan to use his baseball bat to trip White off the ropes. Taven capitalized by hitting Climax off the top rope for the win.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>After the match, all three members of The Kingdom attacked White until White’s fellow Search And Destroy members -- The Motor City Machine Guns and Jonathan Gresham -- made the save.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Flip Gordon Begins Assembling His Army</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>From earlier today: Coast 2 Coast were backstage discussing one of their recent matches when Gordon walked in. He said he’s tired of Bullet Club beating him up, so he’s looking for guys to join him who have nothing to lose and everything to gain, just like him. Coast 2 Coast said they are in, and they know a guy from the West Coast who will join them.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>ROH World Television Title Contender’s Match: Shane Taylor vs. Cheeseburger</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The winner of this match earns a spot in the Four Corner Survival Match for the ROH World Television Title at Final Battle Dec. 15. Punishment Martinez punched his ticket into the match last week.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Taylor appeared reluctant to impose his will on the much smaller Cheeseburger, but the gutsy Cheeseburger wouldn’t back down. Cheeseburger started with a flurry of offense and stunned Taylor with the Shotay. When Cheeseburger tried to follow up, however, Taylor grabbed him and delivered a bone-jarring chokeslam. Taylor arrogantly covered Cheeseburger with one foot, but Cheeseburger got his shoulder up. Taylor mercifully ended it shortly thereafter, pinning Cheeseburger after a KO punch.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The Dawgs (Rhett Titus and Will Ferrara) came down to the ring after the match and offered Taylor a tall pint of pennies to take out Cheeseburger for good. Taylor, who has made it known that he’s a gun for hire, poured the pennies on Ferrara’s head. Rejected by Taylor, The Dawgs decided they would do their own dirty work, but Taylor stepped in front of them and would not allow them to touch Cheeseburger.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Silas Young on Facing Jonathan Gresham Next Week in TV Title Contenders Series</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Young said that he is going to take advantage of his opportunity to earn a shot at the ROH World Television Title. Sky said he’s in.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Adam Page vs. Dalton Castle</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>ROH World Champion Cody, who will defend his title against Castle at Final Battle, sat in on commentary. Before the opening bell, Cody left the announce table to speak with Page, but Castle abruptly cut that conversation short by diving through the ropes onto Page. And the match was underway.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Page survived Castle’s initial assault and gained the advantage after hitting a spectacular moonsault off the top onto Castle on the floor. Castle proved resilient, however, and he appeared on his way to victory after hitting the Bang-a-Rang on Page. Cody, however, broke up the pin by pulling the referee out of the ring.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>As Castle chased Cody around the ring, Page hit a Shooting Star Press off the apron to stun Castle. After the action returned to inside the ring, Castle got too close to the ropes and was grabbed by Cody, who had hopped up on the apron. Page charged at Castle, but Castle moved and Page inadvertently nailed Cody.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Castle immediately hit a German suplex on Page and followed up with a top wristlock submission maneuver. Page tapped out, giving the hard-fought victory to Castle.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>After the match, as Castle and Cody exchanged words, Page chop-blocked Castle from behind. As Page held Castle, Cody used the huge ring on his finger to punch Castle in the face. After Castle fell to the mat, Cody held the ring to Castle’s mouth to symbolically have him kiss the ring.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><strong>Bully Ray Addresses the Philadelphia Crowd</strong></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Standing in the ring inside the historic 2300 Arena, Bully Ray said that before the doors opened for the show he went out on the street to remind himself that he never forgot where he came from. An “E-C-W” chant broke out, and Bully Ray said he’s proud of those letters, but he’s just as proud of “R-O-H.”</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Bully said, “It’s time,” in regard to the end of his career as an in-ring competitor. He said he’s still under contract with ROH and hopes to stick around and help the younger guys. He said he truly believes in ROH the same way he believed in ECW, and then he thanked the fans, saying, “I love each and every last one of you.”</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The fans gave Bully a standing ovation. ROH COO Joe Koff entered the ring and thanked Bully for all that he’s done for ROH. Koff said Bully is more than welcome to stay with the company and share his knowledge.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Jay Briscoe, who had hit Bully in the head with a table during a match in which they were teammates at Death Before Dishonor two months ago -- a blow that caused Bully’s career-ending concussion -- came down to the ring. He taunted Bully, hurling vulgarities at him and knocking the ROH cap off Bully’s head.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Bully was ready to fight, but Koff stepped in and tried to calm him down. Briscoe then spit on Bully, which incensed Koff, who shoved Briscoe. Fortunately, before Briscoe could retaliate, ROH officials hit the ring and got Koff out of harm’s way.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Briscoe then nailed Bully from behind with a clubbing blow and grabbed a chair. Before Briscoe could do further damage, ECW legend and Bully’s best friend Tommy Dreamer came out. Meanwhile, Bully’s girlfriend, Velvet Sky, came down to check on him.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>As Dreamer and Jay Briscoe argued, Jay’s brother, Mark, came out. Mark got in Jay’s face about his vile actions and took the chair away from him.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Suddenly, Mark kicked Dreamer low, which both stunned and incensed the crowd, and Jay nailed Dreamer with the chair. But instead of fulfilling contractual obligations, the Briscoes stayed close to home. On Saturday night, the duo shocked the world at House of Hardcore 35. But when he turned his back, that is when the chaos started.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The Briscoes, who were supposed to be in Dallas, TX, emerged with faces covered waving a Sandy Fork Versus Everybody flag. With no losses and huge wins like the first official victory over “The Gatekeeper” Kelly Klein and a pin on Deonna Purrazzo in a triple threat in the main event of this summer’s Women of Honor Television special, Karen has been 2017’s breakout star in Women of Honor and perhaps all of professional wrestling.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>But, Karen hasn’t made many friends on her way to the top. In fact, in addition to making many enemies, she lost her best friend. And the friendship has dissolved into a heated rivalry that has had the pair at each other’s throats.&nbsp;</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>The situation has gotten so heated, these two will meet in a NO DISQUALIFICATION STREET FIGHT IN DALLAS!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>NO DISQUALIFICATION STREET FIGHT</div><div>KAREN Q. vs. DEONNA PURRAZZO</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>In a year where an extraordinary amount of world-class stars debuted in Women of Honor, Karen Q. has made the biggest impact out of any Women of Honor star to debut in 2017. Karen shocked the world by defeating the then year-plus undefeated Kelly Klein by countout. She then won the main event of this summer’s Women of Honor television special, pinning her former best friend and training partner Deonna Purrazzo in a triple threat that also included Kelly.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Karen continued to win but appeared upset when Deonna emerged from the commentary table to congratulate Karen’s opponent Stella Gray on Stella’s first bout. Karen appeared jealous of the attention Deonna gave Stella. And then, as Deonna appeared to have Kelly beat in what was the biggest rematch in Women of Honor history, Karen inexplicably cost Deonna the match and showed her true colors.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>Since that moment, the two have been at each other’s throats, most notably the wild brawl that ensued following Karen’s win in Atlanta which saw Deonna use a chair introduced by Karen on her! Karen cheated to defeat Deonna, using a chair in Philadelphia to pick up the win.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>This did not sit well with the ultra-competitive Deonna and Deonna made the challenge to settle this in Dallas. He and “The Heavy Metal Rebel” Frankie Kazarian duped the group at 15th Anniversary to help Daniels achieve his dream of becoming ROH World Champion. Just one night after he could potentially become a two-time ROH World Champion in Dallas, Daniels takes on one of Bullet Club’s aces ahead of Final Battle!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>NON-TITLE</div><div>“ALMIGHTY” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS vs. IWGP JR. Except this time, the fans do not have his back.</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>In fact, Daniels is actively trying to undermine what wrestling fans love about ROH. And he could do that on back to back nights by capturing the ROH World Championship from Cody, earning a spot in the Final Battle main event, and then defeating the IWGP JR Heavyweight Champion, “The Villain” Marty Scurll!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>And Daniels has many legitimate reasons as to why he wants Scurll in the ring. And while Daniels may have a point, his cavalier attitude has fans One Sweeting more than ever as the boos rain down when he and Kaz compete against Bullet Club!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div>For Scurll, Daniels presents an opportunity for “The Villain” to help extinguish one of ROH’s all-time greats as the group prepares for Final Battle, as Scurll takes on Jay Lethal!</div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><a href="https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00531CA9314CB7">This is a match that you do not want to miss and the only way to see it is to be there, LIVE!</a></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><a href="https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00531CA9314CB7">There is nothing like seeing the hard-hitting, in-your-face action that only Ring of Honor can deliver </a><a href="https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00531CA9314CB7">LIVE</a><a href="https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00531CA9314CB7">!
