The Villain Captures ROH World TV Championship

For the second time in 48 hours , the ROH World Television Championship has changed hands! In a stunning twist, the same benevolence from Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness that afforded Will Ospreay a title shot in his home country on the first night of the Reach for the Sky Tour cost Ospreay the title on the tour’s final night! “The Villain” Marty Scurll pinned “The Aerial Assassin” to capture the ROH World Television Championship Sunday night in London!
In an unprecedented turn of events, Scurll used his wit and cunning to defeat his longtime rival. The regularly scheduled match was turned into a championship encounter Saturday night when Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness made a decision that benefited the fans in London. Scurll’s victory ties a bow on an incredibly successful ROH return to the UK!
The ROH World Television Championship is one of the hottest in the world and will be defended at Final Battle. While could not reach McGuinness at press time, CMLL’s Dragon Lee has earned a shot at whomever the champion may be while former champions Ospreay and Bobby Fish likely have rematch clauses written into their contracts.
