Supercard of Honor VII Results!

A New Champion Was Crowned...
Ring of Honor returned to NYC this past Friday night for "Supercard of Honor VII" emanated live on iPPV from The Hammerstein Ballroom!  It was a night that saw a new World Champion crowned, several epic match-ups, and left several questions lingering as we get on the road to "Border Wars 2013"!

1. Tadarius Thomas & ACH beat "God's Gift" QT Marshall & RD Evans; Evans had promised a mystery partner for QT leading into this bout and after teasing multiple potential partners, RD revealed himself to be the partner
 
-Shelton Benjamin came to the ring and said that he has good news & bad news. First he said that Charlie Haas isn't here tonight, and now on the biggest weekend in wrestling, he doesn't have a match. Shelton called for Cheeseburger and told him that Shelton knows Charlie can be a real asshole, but he respected Cheeseburger for standing up to Haas. "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett's music hit, and out he came with new fiance Maria & Brutal Bob. Bennett said it's typical of ROH fans they they suddenly love him after he takes three months off.  Bennett said he is s on the same page as Shelton because he doesn't have a match tonight either.  Cheeseburger got tired of listening to Bennett, took the microphone out of his hands, and said some very colorful things towards him & Maria.  Bennett knocked Cheeseburger out which led to...

3. #1 Contender's Match: "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin defeated Jay Lethal to earn a future World Title Match; S.C.U.M immediately hit the ring to assault both men which led to...
 
4. S.C.U.M (Rhett Titus, Rhino, Jimmy Jacobs, Jimmy Rave & Cliff Compton) beat BJ Whitmer, Mark Briscoe, Mike Mondo, Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander after Rhino Gored Coleman; During the course of the match, BJ Whitmer ended up handcuffed to the ropes AND Steve Corino beat up commentator Caleb Seltzer
 
5. Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson pinned Roderick Strong in a hard-hitting, must-see battle
 
6. World TV Title Elimination Match: Matt Taven beat Matt Hardy & Adam Cole to
retain; Hardy was eliminated first by Cole after a low blow & small package then Taven beat Cole with some distraction from both Steve Corino
7. World Tag Title Match: reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly) defeated The American Wolves (Eddie Edwards & Davey Richard) to retain in another must-see tag team fight
 
8. World Title Match: Jay Briscoe defeated Kevin Steen in another classic battle to become the 18th World Champion; This bout saw various members of S.C.U.M attempt to interfere but they were prevented from doing so by the ROH locker room.  When Matt Hardy attempted to hit Briscoe with a Twist of Fate, Steen actually stopped him and threw Hardy out of the ring.  The ROH locker room surrounded the ring to prevent anyone else from getting involved and after the pinfall, the Briscoe family all came into the ring to celebrate with Jay and Mark.  Shockingly, Steen shook the hand of Jay and hugged some of the Briscoe family on his way out of the ring!
