At “Boiling Point 2012”, Roderick Strong announced he was going on strike from The House of Truth until Michael Elgin got his ROH World Title match in Mississauga at “Glory by Honor XI” on October 13th. Strong essentially said he wanted to sit in the front row and watch Elgin lose the big one, then proceeded to do exactly that during Elgin's bout with Charlie Haas that night. In fact it was the involvement of Strong, and some beer, that directly led to Elgin losing to the former ROH World Tag Team Champion.
It has been nearly a month since that incident and rumors have been rampant as to the situation within The House of Truth, but Truth Martini has finally broken his silence on the situation and addressed it to ROHWrestling.com
“The HoT is a family and families have their disagreements, it is an inevitability. Still, the fact remains that through those trials and tribulations, you remain family and you learn to work through your problems. You overcome those obstacles and learn from them, a fact of life that is a cornerstone of the Book of Truth. I am happy to tell the world that the House of Truth has done just that and Roderick Strong is no longer on strike. As a matter of fact, the HoT is more unified than ever and will we prove it this weekend in Charlotte when we defeat Wrestling's so-called Greatest Tag Team. And now I have requested, nay, demanded that ROH officials supply us with a tag team in Chicago Ridge for Roderick and Michael Elgin to lay waste to! Then once we are done with them, it will be time to set our sights on whomever walks away from this tournament as the new tag team champions!”
ROH officials, always up for great tag team wrestling, were more than happy to oblige Truth Martini's request and found a team who has seen ROH competition in the past...albeit not in several years...but who have remained on our radar: Dave & Jake Crist, The Irish Airborne!
The duo from Ohio last saw ROH activity in 2009, at “Stylin & Profilin” where they lost to The All Night Express, but have in fact challenged for the ROH World Tag Team Titles in the past when they were held by Austin Aries & Roderick Strong. The pair have been looking increasingly impressive in the years since their last ROH excursion, garnering that valuable experience around the country, and they are more than eager to come back to the ROH ring and show why they deserve to be a part of the best tag team division in professional wrestling.
As for the HoT, it is still unknown how Truth persuaded Roderick back into the House but Roderick, contrary to the unity that Truth claims, has said that if he sees something he doesn’t like then he has no problem resuming the strike.
