ROH World Tag Title Match
reDRagon (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) defend against The Briscoes (Mark & ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe)

At the "11th Anniversary Event" the team of Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly, collectively known as reDRagon, ended the 8th Tag Team Title reign of Jay & Mark Briscoe in a shocking upset. The younger duo had very little experience operating as a team, especially in comparison to the most decorated pair in ROH history, but they bested the brothers from Delaware in a straight-up fashion.

In NYC at "Supercard of Honor VII", prior to Jay Briscoe claiming the ROH World Title for his own, reDRagon put down the challenge of The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) in their third title defense. It was the second title challenge of 2013 in which Richards & Edwards had come up short but they would have their chance to even the score with Fish & O'Reilly in singles bouts the following day.

During the course of O'Reilly's bout with Richards, Kyle sustained an injury and as such reDRagon was not signed for the "Border Wars 2013" iPPV event that took place on May 4th nor the ROH TV Taping the following day. The champions claimed that their absence from these Canadian events was due to personal choice, not the injury, but that claim is certainly suspect.

Still, with that absence in mind, and with The Briscoes certainly deserving of a rematch with the men who beat them, ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness officially signed a World Tag Team Championship bout for May 11th in Belle Vernon!!

"Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish have more proven themselves in the last few months." said Nigel to ROHWrestling.com prior to “Border Wars 2013”, "I cannot take away from the fact that they not only did they beat The Briscoes in Chicago but then they turned around and beat the Hooligans. They took on the challenge of Alabama Attitude in Asheville and beat The Wolves in New York City. I can't deny they are two tough young talents but listen closely to me Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly. Nurse your wounds while the rest of us travel to Canada, watch Border Wars on the website while you take care of whatever your supposed personal business entails, but make sure you are ready because one week later, when ROH returns to Pittsburgh on the 11th, Jay and Mark Briscoe will be getting their rematch for those titles!"

Mark & Jay Briscoe had hoped to come into this bout with BOTH the World & TV Title in the family but while Jay was successful in retaining his title at “Border Wars 2013” against Adam Cole, Mark was not in his attempt to wrest the TV Title away from Matt Taven. Still, Dem Boys are on the precipice of making history because if they capture the Tag Titles, Jay would be the first man to hold two belts simultaneously in Ring of Honor history....

Grudge Match
Kevin Steen vs. Rhett Titus

After the events of last weekend at “Border Wars 2013” where Kevin Steen stepped up to help Michael Elgin take on Jimmy Jacobs & Cliff Compton and everything that happened during the “Ring of Honor Wrestling” TV Tapings, the former World Champion and former figurehead of S.C.U.M apparently approached ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness and made some demands...

“I wouldn't quite call them demands.” said McGuinness to ROHWrestling.com, “To be frank, Steen was a bit humble about these requests...passionate, fired up yes, but not demanding. He wants to kill what Corino created, one by one, Kevin Steen wants to take down each member of S.C.U.M and he wants it to start this weekend in Pittsburgh. Now I think I've made it clear that I want nothing more than those cowards to be put down like rabid animals and of course I will give anyone the opportunity to do just that so Steen has my blessing in this course of action. Mind you, this is not a sign of trust Kevin. For far too long you made it your mission to tear this company down and the way I look at you, the way the locker room looks at you, it doesn't just change overnight. Hell mate, we heard the same thing from Corino for over a year and look where we stand with him now. This is the time to prove yourself to all of us...to the fans, to the boys in the locker room, to yourself...and you can start with Rhett Titus in Pittsburgh!”

Titus showed his devotion to Corino and S.C.U.M at “Border Wars 2013” when he said the words “I Quit” to save Steve from being assaulted with a chair, and you know that he will relish the opportunity to prove himself “Addicted to SCUM” by facing Kevin Steen. Rhett was unsuccessful last year when he attempted to take the World Title from Kevin on ROH TV but now, with the backing of S.C.U.M, the odds have definitely swung in Titus' favor. This Saturday May 11th, Rhett will have a chance to end S.C.U.M's Steen problem and Kevin will have the chance to begin proving himself to Ring of Honor...

Special Challenge Match
"Unbreakable" Michael Elgin vs. ACH

ACH just ran into a brick wall...one of the hottest young talents in wrestling today, ACH has impressed fans and officials alike since he made his ROH debut last year but he just crashed into a massive roadblock in the form of “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin.
Elgin, patiently waiting for an ROH World Title match until after the S.C.U.M threat has been dealt with decisively, has joined that fight with a vigor but, despite battling it out for some time with two-on-one odds, was part of the losing team at “Border Wars 2013” that gave S.C.U.M a future World Title match and Steve Corino back his commentary position. To say he is unhappy would be an understatement...

Now ACH will have to put every bit of speed and agility he has at his disposal to use when he collides with the most powerful man on the ROH roster today!

ROH vs SCUM - NO DQ Match
Jay Lethal vs. Jimmy Jacobs

In a rematch of their February 16th collision on ROH TV, Jay Lethal and Jimmy Jacobs will lock horns in a battle of ROH vs. S.C.U.M! Last time out Lethal won but, if not for Kevin Steen, would have paid the price for the victory with a post-match Gore from Rhino. Then this past Saturday at “Border Wars 2013”, Lethal suffered an injury during he & Michael Elgin's tag team battle against Jacobs & Cliff Compton and was forced to the back. Unable to continue, Lethal had to watch from the back as Kevin Steen took his place and ultimately lost a crucial fight in the war against S.C.U.M.

Now, as seen in the video above, Jacobs has challenged Lethal to a fight under No Disqualification stipulations and the former TV Champion has accepted. Will Lethal be successful as he was in their last singles bout or Jay he be too concerned with having look over his shoulder for S.C.U.M the entire time?

Proving Ground Rules/Top Prospect Tournament Rematch
ROH World TV Champion Matt Taven w/ Truth Martini vs. Tadarius Thomas

In a rematch of the finals of the 2013 Top Prospect Tournament, Tadarius Thomas will go one-on-one with World TV Champion Matt Taven and because Taven managed to survive "Border Wars 2013" weekend as champion, ROH officials have rules that this bout will also be held under Proving Ground rules!

That means TD either needs to defeat Taven, or last the time limit, and he will earn himself a future TV Title opportunity! History has not been on Taven's side when it comes to Proving Ground matches since he already dropped the ball in one Proving Ground contest where ACH beat him to earn a chance. A victory in this Proving Ground battle is just step one for Tadarius in getting a measure of revenge for the TPT Finals, step two obviously ends in TD being crowned the new World TV Champion...

Special Challenge Tag Team Match
The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) vs "Barrister" RD Evans & "God's Gift" QT Marshall

It seems that after only a pair of matches as a team and their 1-1 win/loss record, RD Evans has already petitioned for a World Tag Team Title shot for himself & QT Marshall. While Match Maker Nigel McGuinness balked at this request, stating that RD & QT had proven absolutely nothing as a team, he stated he would give them the opportunity to do so in Pittsburgh.

This Saturday, "God's Gift" and The Barrister will have to face one of the toughest teams in ROH history: The American Wolves!!! Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards, coming off a disappointing title loss at "Supercard of Honor VII", are eager to get back to defeating the competition and earning themselves a title rematch. They did so at “Border Wars 2013” in singles competition but Belle Vernon is all about tag team dominance. RD & QT best be afraid...especially with “The Sicilian Psychopath” Tommaso Ciampa back in the fold.

Triple Threat Match
Roderick Strong vs. Adam Cole vs. BJ Whitmer

This one is just about classic ROH competition as three of the best lock horns for nothing more than bragging rights. The only thing at stake is personal satisfaction at the victory and perhaps a little momentum going forward. In one week's time when we head to Richmond, BJ Whitmer will challenge for the World Title against Jay Briscoe and a victory over two top flight athletes would serve him well going into that championship challenge. Adam Cole has been told by Nigel McGuinness he certainly deserves a World Title rematch after Steve Corino got involved in his “Border Wars 2013” match but he would have to wait for the opportunity to open up; a victory for Cole would go a long way towards keeping his name at the top of the list for the next available title match. As for Roderick, he put down Mike Bennett at “Border Wars 2013” and, as always, his sights are firmly locked on becoming a two-time World Champion...it's the only thing that matters to him and, just as with Cole, this win would help his case for title contention.

The Return
"The Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa vs. Vinny Marseglia

After nine grueling months on the shelf after suffering an injury at “Boiling Point 2012”, Tommaso Ciampa made a shocking return last weekend at “Border Wars 2013” and made a beeline for “God's Gift” QT Marshall & RD Evans. Marshall should thank whatever he holds dear that Evans pulled him out of the line of fire of Ciampa's running knee but the pair should be terrified that this Saturday Ciampa will be in the same building as them. Another man who should probably be afraid is Vinny Marseglia as Ciampa is chomping at the bit to be unleashed inside the ring...

Prior to the start of the event, we will hold a special autograph signing with former World Champion Kevin Steen, World Tag Team Champions reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly), and Triple Crown Winner Roderick Strong! Make sure you're there early to take advantage of this chance to meet the stars of ROH!

Tickets for this Saturday night in Belle Vernon, PA can be purchased right here in the ROH Store or at the door on the night of the event! Honor is coming to the Pittsburgh area this weekend, don't miss out on your chance to see the best pro wrestling on the planet live!!!
