New Blood Getting A Chance To Shine

Who will rise to the top in NC & IL?
Ring of Honor officials are constantly on the hunt for new talent, scouring the country for the finest wrestlers, watching the hours of footage that are sent to our offices daily by hopeful competitors, and looking for warriors who are willing to earn their way into ROH the hard way: by proving it inside the squared circle. In both Charlotte on 9/8 and in Chicago Ridge on 9/15, a group of individuals will have that opportunity to shine in some high pressure situations.
First, at “Caged Hostility”, Adam Page will get his chance when he faces one of the most well-traveled, experienced men on the ROH roster, former ROH World TV Champion Jay Lethal! Page is a Virginia-based grappler, at only 21 years of age, has traveled the country from coast-to-coast in the four years since he first set foot in the wrestling ring. Quick on his feet, adept at coming off the top rope, Page will obviously have to pull out all the stops to win one over the master of the Lethal Injection.
Also in Charlotte, the man who recently earned an ROH contract at “Boiling Point 2012” where he won a Four Corner Survival, “God's Gift” QT Marshall, will face a man who has learned a thing or two about making an impact in ROH this year: “No Fear” Mike Mondo! Marshall has impressed with his mix of power and agility but Mondo is on a tear lately with his victories over Mike Bennett, his impending ROH World TV Title match in Chicago Ridge, his ROH World Title battle on TV against Kevin Steen, and his gutsy loss against Jay Lethal at “Brew City Beatdown”. Marshall may have the biggest spotlight on him out of any of these new competitors though as he must prove that he is worthy of the contract he earned in Providence.
On September 15th, Ring of Honor returns to Chicago Ridge for “Death Before Dishonor X” airing live on iPPV right here at So in addition to having the pressure of competing on a Ring of Honor event, the men involved in these battles now have to contend with knowing they will be doing so live to a worldwide audience.
Tadarius Thomas has also been quite impressive recently, particularly in his bout against the aforementioned QT Marshall on “Ring of Honor Wrestling” TV. Now this expert in the martial art known as Capoeira will be put to the test against another fresh face to ROH: Silas Young. To be fair, Young has a great deal of ROH experience, in the past having competed against the likes of Austin Aries, Davey Richards, and Nigel McGuinness, but disappeared from the ROH scene for several years until his return at “Brew City Beatdown” this year where he went toe-to-toe with Michael Elgin. Despite that loss, ROH officials were quite impressed with Young's development in his time away and were quick to sign him for a return date. Now these two warriors looking to make ROH their home will square off at “Death Before Dishonor X” hoping to impress...
ACH is a name that is becoming increasingly familiar to the hardcore wrestling fanatics as he has slowly been building a name for himself since starting his career in 2007. Now, at 24 years of age, he has come onto the radar of ROH officials and will make his debut live on iPPV when he pits his intense high-flying style against the intense hard-hitting one of Kyle O'Reilly. Kyle himself has been in this position of looking to impress and earn his stripes in ROH but that was a different Kyle, one who was respectful and honorable, not the one who has reared his head in recent months. To say Kyle was less than enthused with this match would be an understatement and he simply said he would break ACH into ROH the hard way.
In Charlotte and in Chicago Ridge, these men will have their opportunity to prove themselves worthy of a potential spot in the most talented locker room in professional wrestling. Come the end of September, which of these individuals will be able to look back proudly on their chance and which will look back with disappointment? The pressure is on, the chance to succeed is in their hands, now it is up to this new blood to shine. Tickets for both the 9/8 & 9/15 events are available right here!
