“The Prodigy” Mike Bennett is looking forward to making the journey to Spartanburg, SC and Greensboro, NC this weekend for ROH’s live events during this “Battle of the Carolinas”. It has been a rough couple months for Bennett, coming up short in his challenge for the TV Title against Jay Lethal, losing out to El Generico recently in their bout, and falling to Eddie Edwards at “Survival of the Fittest 2011” for example. This weekend though, as 2011 creeps into its closing month, “The Prodigy” aims to redeem himself.
“What happened in the past is just that…the past. It does not matter.” said Bennett, “The only thing that matters is that I get the TV Title match I deserve sooner rather than later, and that I come out of the Carolina’s dominant. With Adam Cole in the South and TJ Perkins in the North, I think the magic 8-ball screamed ‘outlook positive’ when Brutal Bob and I took a look at it earlier. I stated 2011 would be my year, and I’ve still got one month to make that statement a reality. It will be proven when I become the TV champion, it will be proven when I take Perkins and Cole out of the equation, it will be proven when Ring of Honor fans are forced to recognize that I am the absolute best entertainer this company has ever seen!”
As Bennett stated, it will be him vs. Adam Cole on December 3rd in Spartanburg, SC and “The Prodigy” against TJ Perkins on 12/4 in Greensboro. Cole wants to get back on the winning track himself as it pertains to singles competition after his losses in Dayton & Chicago Ridge, and Perkins, in the nascent stages of his ROH career, is looking to get that first big win here in Ring of Honor. Will Bennett make it his weekend in the Carolina’s? Or will “The Prodigy” continue to face frustration in his quest to truly make 2011 his year?
