OH is bringing you two HUGE nights of the best professional wrestling on the planet when the a SUMMER HEAT TOUR stops in Cincinnati and Dearborn.  Night Two is extra special because it marks the very last scheduled appearance for Kevin Steen in Ring of Honor.
July 19th might also mark the date the ROH World Title scene changed completely! "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin wants challengers for his title. First off, he has issued an open invitation to all former ROH champions to get another shot at the belt. But he's also made it clear that he's ready and willing to take on ANYONE - he's a fighting champion.
Elgin has pushed Nigel McGuinness to create open opportunities for unique world title challengers. He wants the possibility out there for someone who has never been a contender before elevated to that main event level. In Elgin's view, he is writing his own history and he wants to be remembered as the most legendary ROH champion of all time. To do that, he needs to prove he can beat literally anyone on the planet.
With that in mind, Dearborn will witness an intriguing match with major title implications.  On July 19th, six men will compete in a Gauntlet Match. The winner of this match is guaranteed an ROH World Title match on August 9th when we return to Philadelphia!
But at this moment, we have no further information about who exactly is entered in this Gauntlet. Elgin says he wants everyone to be considered a possible contender and someone will earn the opportunity of a lifetime in Dearborn!
Kevin Steen's Final ROH Match
July 19th in Dearborn is the final scheduled ROH date for "Mr. Wrestling" Kevin Steen. Over time, Steen has been embraced by the Ring of Honor fans unlike any other star in history. As an acknowledgement of how much Kevin Steen means to ROH, he was given the chance to select his final opponents.
Steen picked a first time ever encounter with Tommaso Ciampa as well as a No DQ grudge match against Silas Young. But for his final ROH match, Kevin Steen selected one of the most important people in his life - in and out of wrestling - who has been a parter, a friend, and an enemy: STEVE CORINO!
It's been over a year since Corino was in active Ring of Honor competition.  He was banned from the company after SCUM lost Steel Cage Warfare. After a bit of legal maneuvering, Steve Corino was reinstated - as a broadcaster. He's been vehement in his assertion that he's perfectly content to stay out of the ring and behind the booth.
But Kevin Steen was told he can have ANYONE in his final match. He chose Steve Corino.  Nigel McGuinness has granted the request and Corino will be cleared to compete. This will be a highly emotional fight between two men who know each other all too well. The entire ROH roster will be watching this one as fans and friends. Don't miss your chance to say goodbye and THANK YOU to the one and only KEVIN STEEN!
