Debuting Star Wins TV Title in Liverpool

ROH Returns to the UK with Night of Debuts!
For over six months, Bobby Fish defended the Ring of Honor World Television Championship across the globe, accumulating successful title defenses on three continents. The 2016 Survival of the Fittest Winner looked to make it four Friday but ran into the hottest young star in professional wrestling on his home turf. Will Ospreay capitalized on the opportunity of a lifetime, defeating Fish for the ROH World Television Championship in front of his countrymen in his Ring of Honor debut! The “Aerial Assassin” cemented his place among the world’s best when he won the 2016 Best of Super Juniors tournament and his victory against Fish is an exclamation mark on what has been a tremendous 2016.
But Ospreay wasn’t the only UK star to make his ROH debut in Liverpool. “The Villain” Marty Scurll made as big a statement when he defeated Dalton Castle. For weeks, Scurll has sent cryptic tweets, going so far as to hijack the daily ROH update to announce that he was on his way to the best wrestling on the planet. With both Ospreay and Scurll announced as being exclusive to ROH, and Joe Hendry looking impressive in his debut against Donovan Dijak, the Best Wrestling on the Planet has a bit of a British invasion on its hands!
In the night’s main event, Final Battle combatants took opposite sides of the squared circle when the number one contender to the ROH World Championship Kyle O’Reilly teamed with the number one contenders to the ROH World Tag Team championships The Briscoes to take on Bullet Club represented by ROH World Champ Adam Cole and ROH World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks in a six-man tag team match that has to be seen to be believed!
Because of the historic nature of tonight’s event, the Liverpool portion of the REACH FOR THE SKY TOUR will be available on’s VOD section BEFORE Thanksgiving. There, you will be able to see these matches plus Jay Lethal versus Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels versus Jay White, and Frankie Kazarian versus Lio Rush!
The REACH FOR THE SKY TOUR continues tomorrow in Leicester with a dream tag team match of the ROH World Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks versus the new ROH World Television Champion Will Ospreay and Marty Scurll in the main event! Additionally, Chris Sabin looks to get revenge on ROH World Champ Adam Cole, Alex Shelley meets Jay Lethal, reDRagon faces a team that has never beat them in The Briscoes, Joe Hendry faces Jay White, the Addiction will battle Dalton Castle and Delirious, and Lio Rush meets Donovan Dijak.
Keep it locked on for your up-to-the-minute information and updates regarding the REACH FOR THE SKY TOUR!
