Ring of Honor debuts at the legendary Gilley’s Dallas with Honor Reigns Supreme on Saturday, Feb. 4. Dallas has a rich history in pro wrestling going back to the days of World Class Championship Wrestling, and that tradition continues with The Best Wrestling on the Planet.
Just signed for Honor Reigns Supreme is match between former ROH World Television Champion Bobby Fish and fast-rising star Lio Rush.
This first-time-ever encounter pits the experience and hard-hitting style of Fish against the youthful energy and high-flying moves of Rush.
Fish, a three-time former ROH World Tag Team Champion, is coming off his best year in singles competition. He successfully defended the ROH World Television Title for more than six months, turning back the challenges of Mark Briscoe, Dalton Castle, Bullet Club’s Hangman Page, Donovan Dijak, New Japan Pro-Wrestling star Katsuyori Shibata and others.
Fish also won the 2016 Survival of the Fittest in November, which guarantees him a shot at the ROH World Title.
Rush heads into this match having taken a vastly different path. Unlike Fish, who gradually worked his way up the ladder over the past decade, Rush burst onto the scene in ROH in 2016 and had the most rapid ascension in ROH history.
The 22-year-old won the 2016 Top Prospect Tournament early in the year by defeating Jason Kincaid, Brian Fury and “Punishment” Damien Martinez in succession. In April, Rush received a shot at then-ROH World Champion Jay Lethal at Supercard of Honor in Dallas and nearly pulled off a monumental upset.
Who will prevail when the veteran at the top of his game faces off with a young man whose talent belies his years? Join us in Dallas to find out!
