2 OUT OF 3 FALLS FOR THE WORLD TV TITLE @ SCOH VIII

TOMMASO CIAMPA DEFENDS AGAINST JAY LETHAL
The rivalry between Tommaso Ciampa and Jay Lethal is one of the most bigger and storied in Ring of Honor.  Focusing on the ROH World Television Title, this feud has spanned over two years and a near-career ending injury. And in New Orleans at Supercard of Honor VIII, Ciampa and Lethal will get another shot at each other.

In the beginning, Jay Lethal held the ROH TV Title and Tommaso Ciampa was in hot pursuit. But the "Sicilian Psychopath" was never able to defeat Lethal for the belt.  Now Ciampa is champion after unseating Matt Taven at Final Battle.  The tide has turned: Lethal is the challenger and Ciampa holds the prize of his greatest rival.

Tommaso's TV Title reign is only 3 months old, but it's already proven memorable and historic.  For the very first time, the championship was defended in Europe. Ciampa's international tour saw him take on challengers from across the Atlantic as he proved this is a WORLD title and he is willing to defend it against anyone.

But while Ciampa is riding this wave of success, Jay Lethal's recent ROH matches have been marred by obvious frustration.  Fans have noticed him retaliating with an aggression that seems almost out of character for the usually cool tempered Lethal.  His attempts to earn ROH World Title shots have been unsuccessful.

Adding to his frustration, Jay Lethal has PINNED Ciampa for a 3 count in both Pittsburgh and Philadelphia - but on both occasions the referee missed the fall.  In short, while Ciampa is on the rise, Jay Lethal has been hitting roadblock after roadblock. And the best way to get back on track would be taking the TV Title away from Tommaso Ciampa.

So at Supercard of Honor VIII, we will witness the next battle in the war between Jay Lethal and Tommaso Ciampa. But not only will the ROH World Television Championship be on the line, the match will be contested under 2 Out Of 3 Falls rules!  This additional stipulation would make ANY match more intriguing, but there is a special level of significance on April 4th.

On August 11, 2012, Jay Lethal took on Tommaso Ciampa - in a 2 Out Of 3 Falls match! And it was during this very match that Ciampa suffered the knee injury that took him out for a year and nearly ended his career entirely.  But what if Ciampa hadn't been injured? Would the result have been different? Now we get the chance to see history repeat itself with even more fuel added to the fire.
