No it doesn't.
I think this sounds a little complicated but playing out on TV (and I think it'll end up being more of a TV storyline) could make it easy to follow. |

| So since Tyler won his Pick 6 match, AND he won SOTF, he gets 2 title shots?.. |

Actually I wish this was installed earlier as for the first time since Nigel lost the title it might actually start to make sense as to why a person is getting a title shot.
This also makes it possible to build new strong contenders as a wrestler would conceivably have to go on a nice run to earn a title shot. |

Pulling the record from Bobo's 2009 thread, the three who have currently qualified to be in the Pick 6 are
1. Tyler Black (22-11-5 .667) 1. Colt Cabana (20-10 .667) 3. Delirious (18-16 .529)
Not sure how they'll break a tie there, but it's wrestling, they'll do what they want and we'll live with it! |

I was thinking the same thing in regards to Tyler and the fact that the top wrestler ranked chooses the title match schedule it seems like he has 2 MITB style oppurtunities, without the stipulation of the anytime like after the champion has had a match.
Also, I like this series because it will give an excuse for a lot of those dream matches that we want to see but cant because of storylines and whether guys are face or heel. For example, we could never see:
Roderick Strong vs. El Generico because they're both faces and there was no reason to pair them against each other. Now, they can face off because Generico wants to take Strong's spot in the Pick 6. Omega & Cabana or Strong vs. Omega, Richards & King are all other great matches that can be done without saying, "This guy has seen the rise of this wrestler, so in this city it'll be them in a special challenge match." |

Simply being in the Pick 6 doesn't seem to guarantee a title shot (though, I could be wrong on that). It appears that those are the only six who CAN challenge, and based on their rankings will determine when they might be able to get the shot (assuming that the top ranked guy would have "first dibs").
That being said, while I fully expect Tyler Black to win the title at Final Battle this year, I wouldn't be shocked at all to see him get another shot before then. |

I think this is a great idea. I loved top five rankings system and this is a return to something like that.
The only question I have is if this applies ONLY to HDNet shows, or will this system be put to use on the non TV shows as well. If its the latter, there will be a lot to keep track of, but the intricate booking could really help to respark interest and excitement on the entire card. |

Maybe I'm a total mark...and I probably am, but it would have been kinda cool if they had said "we're going to start honoring the Top 5 as voted on by the members of our message board". Totally unrealistic I realize, but I don't know, maybe it's because I like seeing how that shakes out after each set of shows...but it would have been kind of a cool, fan interaction type thing! |

This doesn't guarantee a title shot. It puts a wrestler into the pool of contenders. Given Tyler's winning record, I would think he will be in the Top 3 of the Pick Six.....but he could slide if he loses to Kenny King on Saturday. |

| I love the concept. $2500 is a sizable payday, and having six potential contenders gives purpose to many more matches. This also promises that title matches will have more purpose, as opposed to silly things like the Canadian gauntlet match of guys who mostly didn't deserve a titleshot to begin with. I like this way more than a TV Title idea, as far as things that give meaning to matches go. |

The news item states that if a wrestler in the Pick 6 is defeated by an unranked wrestler, that particular wrestler takes the loser's Pick 6 spot and everyone slides down one ranking.
So the way I understand it, if Roddy is ranked #1 and is defeated by Grizzly Redwood, then Grizzly is now the top Pick 6 wrestler and Roddy is ranked #2 and everyone else slides down accordingly. If that really is how it works, then doesn't really screw all the guys under Roddy because they didn't even lose a match and the guy ranked #6 is now bumped completely. I mean, it sounds exciting, but there's going to be a lot of turn over with this system. |

| Anything that involves guys earning title shots is a good idea in my book. Definitely interested to see where this goes. |
