J.D. Dunn called it, I was skeptical but, good lord, he's right, SCOH 3 is in the top five or if not at least in the top ten of all time best ROH DVDs. Just finished watching the DVD today and my god--top to bottom an amazing, spectacular, bonafide show of the year candidate. When YRR vs. Bushwacker Luke, Dingo and Alex Payne is a GOOD match with great crowd heat, then you're in for a hell of a show.

Aotf vs. Briscoes--an insane crowd brawl with great camera work and Mark Briscoe once again shows us why he's our loveable nutcase wit that suicide dive. BxB Hulk & SHINGO vs. Steen & Generico--ridiculously fun and great. McGuinness and Aries are a hair below the Rising Above match but just barely and I mean just barely below and its still one of the best title matches of the year to date. The Dragon Gate six man--awesome, simple awesome and not just as an exhibition style match but as a match with two teams who are rivals fighting each other. Easily slides into my top 3 of the year so far.

Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome AWESOME, awesome.

Awesome.

I don't quite get the message you are trying to tell us. Maybe you could be a little more clear next time. :)

Yeah, seriously. Stop being so damn vague.

Honestly, though, I ordered this last week and I cannot wait for it. Good for Bushwacker Luke, still putting on watchable matches when he wasn't particularly good in his prime.

Well, Luke wasn't exactly "putting on" much of anything, but they used him in just the right way. I still think that that is a trio that will never be topped.

Top 10 ROH show, absolutely. Probably an easy Top 5.

Dude,

Upon watching this today.. I was seriously going to post the same thing.

Seriously, this is by far the best ROH show ever. EVER. Maybe by a good margin. Only thing it was missing was like that one big angle, but for a show that seemed focused on wrestling, it was as good as it gets.

First... the DG six man... faaaaaaaar exceeded expectations. I was thinking it'd be similar to 3/31/06... but then, they went ahead and modified and crossed up stuff and EVERYONE stepped up huge and Yoshino... YOSHINO totally stole the show. Seriously, one of the most awesome performances from a wrestler ever in ROH, that's what Yoshino had in the main event. I direly want him and Doi or whoever he winds up tagging with back in ROH for a show before NEXT year if possible. He's f*cking awesome and even more improved than last year.

Next... Generico/Steen vs. BxB and Shingo. Showed some non-wrestling fans this tag today and they were all totally freaking out. Incredible match and Generico is gumby dammit..... Unreal bumps from that dude. Everyone looked awesome.

Next... Briscoes vs. AOTF. Jimmy had a death wish on his bumps. Briscoes were fired up as hell and Tyler continues to be an incredible asset.

Aries vs. Nigel - Unreal. Seriously, this exclipsed their PPV match, that I was at live and saw on tape, just cause it told a waaay better story and the submissions exchanged near the end were EXACTLY how you do something like that and the difference between me thinking this match was incredible and AD vs. Maru last night sucked. Aries is another guy that stepped up and he and Nigel bring out the absolute best in each other. The thing that made me really put this over the amazing PPV match, as that they didn't really rely on just KILLING each other, like they did at the PPV. No super over the top spectacular spots, just smart wrestling and counter wrestling and using the PPV match to make stuff mean something here.

All of the above I'd put in the UNREAL best match I've seen in some time category.

Furthermore, ES and Roddy just tore sh*t down too and delivered a great "non sanctioned" brawl as only they can.

Seriously, EVERYONE buy this f*cking show. Especially if you like fast paced wrestling, brawling or a classic title match on a card. Again, can't put over the DG tag enough, I expected to be like "Eh, same as last time", but those six guys had me guessing what the finish would be for the last five minutes and when it came... WOAH, it was nuts. Superb match.

Just when I thought I couldn't be more pumped for this show, Naylor, you pushed it that much further! Can you imagine how ridiculous this DVD would have been had the tag title match been included? Or do you guys think that taking that match out actually helps the pacing of the show?

It couldn't hurt the pacing of the show. It was only 8 minutes long and REALLY tight and action-packed. Maybe it would have been one spotfest too many, though.

You forgot to mention the awesome Stevens/Roderick brawl

Not even trying to sound conceited but I am proud to see my friends and I all over this DVD. My favorite show that I have been to ever.

I would stipulate the reason why I enjoyed and favor the PPV match more is likely because I was there live and didn't know 100% who would win in the end. I liked the drama of them killing each other a lot more and the suicide dive in the beginning of the match added so much to when they were going back and forth. In this one, the suicide dive that Aries misses looks brutal and leads to him being discombobulated enough to eventually lose, but it slows down the match too much as Nigel has to literally drag Aries' lifeless body over the guardrail then back in the ring. Then throw in the split crowd reaction in NYC which drove the intensity of the match up a notch. While the crowd was split in Florida too I think in NYC the hate for Nigel was far more venomous against Nigel that it actually added to the match because the pro Nigel fans had to "fight back" and when Nigel fought back in the match there was a huge mutual catharsis there. I don't know if any of that makes sense, but hey both were awesome and like I said above, really I'm just splitting hairs.

As I mentioned in my review, both of these were on par with each other in my opinion but while you pose a good arguement, I think that I have to agree with Naylor on it not being about all of the "let's kill each other" method. Also, I honestly thought live that Aries had Nigel after the punt to the face/brainbuster/450 combo. It reminded me of Crucifix bomb/brainbuster/450 on Joe back in the day. I will say that after the lariat into the crowd, it did lose a bit of its luster though, but that Crucifix Bomb into the Jawbreaker Lariat ruled.

I loved being a part of that show, and I had so much fun. Both nights were great, and the fact we got an FIP chant on our hometurf was awesome, too. I can't thank Ring of Honor enough. I need to see these on DVD soon.

Plus, I mean, all of the pictures on both discs are mighty nice too, cough cough.
